About Dr. James H. Cone
Dr. Cone (1938–2018) was the founder of Black Liberation Theology, author of Black Theology and Black Power and The Cross and the Lynching Tree, and longtime professor at Union Theological Seminary.
His life’s work called the church and the world to stand with the oppressed and to see God through the lens of liberation and love.
